New Zealand Manuka

Manuka (Leptospermum scoparium) is a tree native to New Zealand which grows abundantly in uncultivated areas of undeveloped coastal and mountain regions. It has historically been used by the ingenious New Zealand Maori people for medicinal purposes.
The Manuka tree has small white flowers which bloom during Spring and Summer with peak flowering season from November to January. It is during this time the bees collect the nectar from the flowers to produce Manuka honey.
